Artists in Shellbrook initiated an art tour for the Centennial, which we ran for 10 years. On Friday evening, the kick-off was a “Jamboree on the Hill”, with musicians playing as we lit the huge pit fire. The photo below is extracting the pots when the tour closed on Sunday.

Our Art Spot today features Pat Grayston. She is the owner of Riverview Arts and is also one of the main organizers of the Parkland Artisan Tour.

Pat’s magical, and eco-efficient big red barn on the hill is a local landmark in Shellbrook.

Owner-operator of the River View Arts,artist Pat Grayston produces distinctive horse-hair and pit fired pottery as well as teapots and other functional ware. She also has an intaglio press, both for her hand pulled prints and woodcuts. She is a member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council and is a strong advocate for the arts and culture of the Parkland region.
